Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB (7200rpm) SATA 16MB 3.5 inch Hard Drive (Internal)

I read a review several years ago which stated "WD drives are as hard as iron" so I thought I'd try one and I've been using WD hard drives ever since. I've built quite a few PCs for myself and installed WD disks in other people's computers, they've proved completely reliable, unlike other makes which I used before. They're reasonably priced, install easily and basically don't cause any trouble. I went for this particular drive for my Mac G5 because I record audio on it, the disk is fast and has enough cache for my purposes. WD make disks with more cache but this seemed to me to be the best cost to performance ratio. I haven't had this disk long enough to give a proper assessment of it's capabilities, but so far I'm very happy with it.

Bought this to replace a dead Maxtor drive. It's faster and quieter than any previous drive I've used. I like it so much I've installed two in my machine.
