Dell 2335dn A4 Multifunction Mono Laser Printer (Network Ready)

For several years I bought a succession of printers, always going for the cheapest available. Often by shopping around I could pick up a new printer with a toner cartridge for less than the cost of a new toner cartridge. Clearly this method was flawed (and not very enviromentally sound!), but I got by.

The printers never lasted long and after a few thousand pages drums would get scratched and lines would appear, toner would be redistributed badly, the feeder would get jammed... problems, problems, problems, but always solved by buying yet another cheap printer and getting another few months of use. Finally I had to accept this method wasn't sensible for running a small office and there were better things I could do with my time than giving cheap printers a good kicking whenever they failed yet again.

I bit the bullet and brought a proper printer and this is the one I chose. It's expensive (about 6 times more than the last few I bought), but so far it's showing every sign of lasting at least 6 times longer and there have been no problems with it. As I got the wireless printing option too the time saved and general joy of not having printer problems any more have made this a worthwhile investment.

So, if you're in the same position as I was of printing a lot, but getting by with dodgy cheap printers, consider that sometimes you do get what you pay for and opting for a proper small office printer might be the better choice.
